Enameled wire is a type of magnet wire.
Both wires are same by conduct, but the magnet copper wire is specially coated with thin and high heat absorbing material. Magnet wire is coated with an enamel insulation vs a plastic or rubber coating. Magnet wire has a very special insulation, copper wire won’t work as well.
Electromagnetic wire: It is a wire used for coils or windings of motors, electrical appliances and electrical instruments, which has realized the conversion of electromagnetic energy, also known as winding wires. According to the material, structure, heat resistance grade and purpose of the insulation layer, it can be divided into four categories: enameled wire, wrapped wire, inorganic insulated magnet wire, and special magnet wire.
①Enameled wire: the paint film formed by applying insulating varnish on the conductive wire core and drying as an insulating layer. Ordinary enameled wires can be divided into acetal, polyester, polyurethane, epoxy, polyesterimide, oily enameled wires, etc. Special enameled wires include self-adhesive direct welding enameled wires, self-adhesive enameled wires, and refrigerant resistant enameled wires.
②Wrapped magnet wire is tightly wrapped on bare wire or enameled wire with insulating paper, glass filament, natural wire and synthetic wire. The magnet wire that forms an insulating layer is called wrapped magnet wire. Including silk covered wire, glass fiber covered wire, paper covered wire, film wrapped wire and so on.
③Inorganic insulated magnet wire: It is a magnet wire that uses inorganic insulating materials, such as ceramics, glass films, oxide films, etc., as an insulating layer.
④Special electromagnetic wire: It is an electromagnetic wire with insulation structure and characteristics suitable for special occasions, such as medium and high frequency winding wires, polyethylene insulated nylon sheathed submersible motor windings, etc.
