Copper is one of the most useful and productive metals, which can be used and applied in various uses. Due to its high electrical and thermal conductivity, copper wires are the first preference for electrical and mechanical industry. Besides these, there is one more very useful application of copper: Magnet Wire.

Magnet Wire is created from copper wire, when they are coated with a very thin layer of insulation. Some of the major applications of magnet wires are:
-Transformers
-Inductors
-Motors
-Speakers
-Hard disk head actuators
-Potentiometers
-Electromagnets

The magnet wire is usually fully annealed and electrolytically refined copper wire, which is optimized for best performance. Although aluminium wires can also be sometimes used to create magnet wires, but the efficiency and effectiveness of aluminium based magnet wires is close to zero. Hence, more and more manufacturers and engineers prefer copper based magnet wire.
