News: Vimetco Debuts €10 MM Automatic Aluminium Extrusion Line
Romanian aluminium company Alro SA (Alro Slatina) said this week that its downstream subsidiary Vimetco Extrusion has produced the first extruded aluminium from its new €10 million automatic aluminium extrusion line in Slatina.
The new 7” press extrusion line is the site’s third aluminium extrusion line. Vimetco says the new line is part of the firm’s strategy to increase its value-added aluminium offerings.
Marian NĂSTASE, Chairman of ALRO’s Board of Directors, said in a press release that the new line will help it adjust to the difficulties of the new aluminium economy.
“ALRO Group believes that focusing on strategic investments, processes optimization, and cost control represents a suitable and reliable strategy to support our business and help us navigate through these challenging times. This strategy applies to all our subsidiaries, and Vimetco Extrusion’s completion of a new automatic extrusion line is the latest example. This is yet another step towards increasing the portfolio of high and very high value-added products, while consolidating the relationship with our customers by offering them a reliable, long-term partner capable of delivering tailored products and services.”
The new line runs at 50 meters (164 feet) per minute and can extrude profiles of up to 60 meters (197 feet). The addition of the new line boosts Vimetco Extrusion’s capacity to 35 thousand metric tons per annum.
